Stop & Swap: when production needs change
When capacity or technology needs change, discuss adding, replacing or removing equipment. Eligibility, timing, procedures and costs are agreed in the contract.
Add capacity
Plan additional equipment for new products or volumes.
Change technology
Review a different machine configuration or process.
Review equipment use
Discuss equipment that no longer fits your production.
Renting versus buying
Compare the full cost and responsibilities for the period you expect to use the equipment. A payment model alone does not determine production results.
Consider renting when…
Compare renting if you prefer periodic payments to an outright purchase and want to assess contractually agreed change or return options. Include initial payments, service and end-of-contract costs.
Explore this topic →Consider buying when…
You plan long-term ownership and can fund the purchase. Include maintenance, support, upgrades and eventual resale or disposal in the comparison.

- Periodic and initial payments, term, and any placement-based calculation.
- Separate services
- Shipment, installation, acceptance, training, maintenance, support and warranty arrangements.
- Changes & contract end
- Equipment changes, return, continuation or purchase, including procedures and costs.
Business model questions
How is pay per placement calculated?
A fixed payment is combined with a variable payment linked to placements. The proposal sets out counting, rates, expected volumes and what happens when production changes.
What should I compare?
Compare equipment scope, all payments, services, maintenance, contract changes and end-of-contract options for the same production requirement.
