DEIF: bringing PCBA production in-house
When DEIF decided to bring PCBA production into its new factory in Skive, it needed help choosing, installing and starting up the equipment. As production grew, Stop & Swap moved the placement equipment to a new setup.

01
A new factory, and control from PCB to finished product
For its new factory, DEIF decided to bring PCBA production in-house. The aim was to control the complete process, from the PCB to the final product, in a setup with a high level of automation and digitalisation.

At that point, DEIF did not yet have detailed knowledge of which equipment and processes PCBA production would need. It looked for an external partner who could support the whole process.
02
One partner, from the first idea to finished products
DEIF chose SMT Renting. SMT Renting helped select the equipment, install it and start up production, and was involved from the first ideas of insourcing until finished products were leaving the factory.

As a new player in PCBA production, DEIF also saw an advantage in the SMT as a Service model.
03
SMT, odd-form, THT and automated material handling
DEIF’s production is split into PCBA production, where boards are produced and put on stock, and box build, where products are assembled for customers. It is high-mix, low-volume production.

The SMT line mainly consists of Panasonic equipment. Alongside it are an odd-form placement line, also from Panasonic, THT equipment and an automated Neotel material handling system.
04
When growth outpaced the original placement equipment
Since production started in the new factory, DEIF has grown, and the placement machines it started with no longer provided enough capacity. The additional equipment needed was calculated, and reaching the new capacity level was urgent for DEIF.

With Stop & Swap, SMT Renting took back the original placement machines and moved DEIF to a new setup better suited to its future production, instead of leaving DEIF with equipment that no longer fitted its needs.
05
A further investment in automated material handling
In April 2026, SMT Renting reported on DEIF’s investment in automated material handling in Skive. The setup is designed to reduce manual handling and errors and to make components traceable.
- Neoscan Plus incoming station: incoming material is scanned, labelled and registered
- 3 × SMD BOX Duo storage systems
- Capacity for more than 12,000 SMD reels
